Jamie Osborne Gives The Lowdown On Aspectus
Ex-German mile/ten furlong pattern class winner of seven from 28 and last horse racing win came in Baden Baden group three in May 2007 by a short head. Rated 108 when disappointing on debut for present yard over ten furlongs in Dubai early April but better effort only subsequent start same track when seven lengths fourth of 13 to Calming Influence off 105.
“We were caught out by what was happening with the surface the first time he ran at Meydan as it got quicker as the meetings progressed. He probably wasn’t as fit as we thought and it became apparent on his second run that he loves fast ground. There was nothing else there for him so he came back and had a mini break and is ready to go now on the right ground. Not slow and a mile is better than ten furlongs. He worked well with Crowded House and City Leader before he went to Meydan. His first target is a mile listed handicap at the York Dante Meeting. There is also a listed option at Windsor a couple of days before. He could be one for the Hunt Cup.”
