Why are there no fitness centers and programs for kids?

I was wondering why there are no fitness centers for children. If it is because of liability, why would it be any different than a gymnastics class or something. I am talking about a center that offers aerobics and diet classes for kids. I would enroll my children in a heartbeat. Any ideas??

I have mentioned this to 24 hour fitness many times. I have a son that loves to exercise. I take him to the gym with me. He loves going…until he sits in the play room. He always asks me why everybody just sits around in there. With the rate of child obesity going up…I hope that they can be the start of a new program to help reduce child obesity.

Do you have a local YMCA? They usually have programs and classes for kids.

It can actually be hard on children. They do have programs for kids at school like the presidential fitness program. (I did that in 6th grade)
