The Racquet & Fitness Center and Student Recreation Center are student funded recreational centers and are intended to serve Ferris students, Ferris employees and the Big Rapids community.

The Racquet & Fitness Center also serves as a laboratory for students in the Professional Tennis Management (PTM) program. To help them prepare for their careers, PTM students staff the club approximately 120 hours/year.

Does anyone think that government subsidized fitness centers would be a good way to reduce health care costs?

I think that if we give people access to club memberships that they currently can’t afford, then perhaps the obesity rate would go down, and so would help reverse health problems that relate to the obesity epidemic in America. What do you all think??

Funny. My wife worked out, ate right, doesn’t smoke OR drink and still got breast cancer. So, I’m gonna say no.

Any one have opinions on Bally’s Fitness Centers?

Thinking of joining on a month to month.

I’ve been working at Bally’s for 2 years now. Perfectly fine for me. I lift weigths and use the cardio machines. I also travel and being able to use Bally’s in other states works out great for me.

I see alot of classes for women too.

In my city, some Bally’s are nice than others due to age of the facilities. But all in all I would recommend them.

How does Obama’s health care plan benefit fitness centers?

I see how it benefits the insurance and medical industries. Is there any requirements to send some of the larger people in our society into workout programs?

Huh? It doesn’t benefit medical industries & doctors. It CUTS medicare payments to doctors. That’s why they have a separate "doctor fix" and 1/3 of doctors have threatened to quit if Obama-care passed.

Insurance companies are being vilified as the bad guy that is making huge profits on the backs of consumers. They only have about a 3% profit margin. That’s tiny!
