Im doing a project for an entrepreneurship class. I need to know a rough estimate of the expected capital (money) I would need to start my own fitness club. Any places I can look up this type of information?

You can research this a few different ways.

First – make a tally of what your club needs – equipment, uniforms, floor space, rent, electric, heating / ac, water, phones, computer, employee salaries, & printing / laminating. These decisions are yours, so I can’t really guide you as to how big or small the estimate will be. However, once you know, you can find out the prices for equipment by checking out a wholesale site like http://www.net2fitness.com.

Also think about an advertising / marketing budget.

Now think about how long it will take for you to make a profit, and start paying back your loan. You need to have at least 1-2 years operating expenses saved to be safe.

Add it all up, add 2.5% for inflation.

Does an employee at a fitness faculity need to be on duty 24 hours a day at a 24 hour center?

no. i worked for a library that was open 24 hours & there was staff there for all 24 hours, but each employee didn’t have to be on duty 24 hours.

I want to play music throughout the fitness club, do I have to pay for it? And if so, what is my cheapest alternative?

Satellite radio costs about $14 per month. There are at least 80 channels of commercial-free music on 24/7. Get it & play it.

Do you have a membership to the Lifetime Fitness Center? if so which kind (gold, bronze, onxy etc) and how much do you pay, I want a membership there but have no idea how much it is, Im willing to pay a lot b/c I feel like its worth it, but I just want an idea on what the packages cost. Thanks

my best friend is taking me and some others to vegas for her birthday. we’re staying at circus circus and i was wondering if there is a fitness center there?

They have a small room, with four machines (1 treadmill, stairmaster, "cardio machine", something else, some free weights, and a universal weight machine..i’m assuming a bo-flex type thing). $5 for the day, open all day. The person on the phone even hesistated to refer to it as a "fitness center". But if you’re just looking for something to keep the Vegas buffet weight off..I think it’ll work just fine. and $5 is a lot cheaper than what some of the other casinos do charge for their "Fitness centers" (i.e. like $20-50 for the day). Have Fun!

I’m 5′4, and I weigh 125-126 and I’m hoping to lose 5 lbs at the fitness center. I’ll be going daily for 6 weeks. How long will it take to lose 5 lbs?

2-3 weeks.

Just make sure you watch your caloric intake. People tend to eat more when they start working out, overcompensating for the calories that they burn off.
