What would be the best adhesive to glue a sole back on an athletic shoe?

Posted on January 26th, 2010 by admin in athletic | 3 Comments »

The last several pairs of athletic shoes I’ve purchased, the back sole separates from the shoe after wearing for a few weeks. I’ve tried rubber cement, fixture adhesive and silicone caulk. None of these work. Any suggestions?

The best glue is something called "Goop" Make sure you clean the rubber parts with a solvent. An alcohol will work, but so will something stronger like acetone (don’t use too much or your shoe will dissolve). Clamp the parts together for 24 hours – a regular clamp is best but a couple of boards wrapped together with rope will work too.

What is the best Prince tennis racquet to get?

Posted on January 24th, 2010 by admin in racquet club | 5 Comments »

I currently am playing with a Head, lightweight tennis racquet with a swing style rating of S1. It has a great feel and good control but am looking for something more powerful, something with a better spin and has flexible shots. I am looking at several tennis racquets including the Head Flexpoint 4 but most of all the next generation of Prince O3 technology. I am 14 years of age almost 15, an intermediate player and joining a club in the next month. I am about 5"6. And i am wondering what the best prince racquet would be for my age and size criteria. I was looking at the speedports (blue and silver) are these good? or should i stick with head after being with them for so long? please answer my question as i am eagerly wanting to know what the best prince racquets are out there. Thankyou.

My situation is really similar to Spencer. Im on the HS varsity team, and I use the O3 Hybrid Hornet as well. I bought it when it was $170, but now its on sale for $99. Good racquet.

If you want a similar, full O3, (not a hybrid), try the Ozone Seven. A lot of pros use this racquet.

How expensive is your MA compared to club sports/gyms in your area?

Posted on January 24th, 2010 by admin in sports club | 3 Comments »

I remember swimming after school was 40 bucks a month. I pay twice that for MA now but at least I don’t smell like chlorine anymore and I don’t have to wear jammers
not that water polo wasn’t awesome

My school is in Upstate NY and is $120/month….training is 5-1/2 hours a week. Seems kind of expensive, though….

How can someone like me get an athletic build?

Posted on January 24th, 2010 by admin in athletic | 1 Comment »

I’m trying to get an athletic build because I want to get in shape.
Here’s my info:

Female
Weight-125
Height-5′4"

I want to work on mainly my legs and arms, but I don’t want my arms to look too bulky, just toned enough. Thank you!

Anybody can get an athletic build. You seem like you’re already in good condition to begin your transformation. Work in the gym on legs and arms. It is difficult fot girls to really back on muscle, so I wouldnt worry about becoming too bulky. You might even fint that initially you start to lose weight. (especially if you eat healthy)

is it worth joining a fitness club or a waste of $?

So I’m thinking about joining Bally’s Total Fitness to kick start me new years resolution since i NEVER get to it. Anyways this girl across the street just got attacked by a guy and I think its b/c she runs around the neighborhood in spandex and is on the phone talking outside, so she caused attention to herself. I live near campus and there are always so many other girls my age (twenties) running. Anyways, should I join a club and end up paying initiation fee and $35 a month to join or should I just continue to try to run outside. I’m in college so I think $35 is a lot of money to spend every month. What should I do?

Doesnt your school have some sort or fitness area?
